The beans we use are the Pure Colombian 100% Arabica Excelsio bean which has the caffeine removed before roasting using just CO2 and water (the Swiss Water Method). This gives a cleaner tasting bean than decaffeinated beans stripped using chemicals as is common in some cheaper coffees. The bean is medium roasted to bring out the distinctive nutty flavour of the Colombian bean. This coffee is comparable to our full caffeine Pure Colombian. This bean is also the "base" coffee for all our flavoured decaffs.
